Qld: Couple caught in ship scam get jail
A court has been told a couple posing as the captain and secretary of a multi-milliondollar shipping company netted thousands of dollars by selling other people's boats onthe internet.
Diesel workshop employee 37-year-old KRISTOFFER RAYMOND MITCHELL and his de facto wife40-year-old PAMELA FAYE SADLER have pleaded guilty to the fraud today at a hearing inBrisbane's District Court.
Police say MITCHELL posed as Grade Four Captain CHRISTOPHER MITCHELL, owner and operatorof SCL Marine.
MITCHELL has been sentenced to 15 months jail but will be released in September afterspending 10 months on remand awaiting the hearing.
SADLER, a mother-of-four and one-time disability worker, has been sentenced to twoyears' jail wholly suspended.
