VIC:Man jailed over sex with 14yo girl

One man's been jailed and another's walked from court after they had sex with a 14-year-old
girl after an afternoon of drinking.

The Victorian County Court heard the 14-year-old female victim was contacted through
Myspace by 19-year-old STEVEN HANDROS .. who picked up the girl and her friend from a
train station.

HANDROS and his friend 31-year-old RAVINDER SINGH later had consensual sex with the girl.

Judge MERYL SEXTON said the men engaged in a serious breach of trust .. and sentenced
SINGH to two-and-a-half years jail .. with a minimum of 10 months.

HANDROS received a wholly suspended 15-month jail term .. after the judge took into
account his youth .. admissions .. willingness to give evidence against his co-accused
.. and the narrow age between him and his victim.
