Revenues from Communications Grew 12 in Jan-Nov in China

CHINA, Dec 24, 2004 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's total communications business volume during Jan-Nov soared by 35.3 percent to CNY889.16 billion compared with the same period of last year; the revenues from communications business grew 12.0 percent to CNY525.17 billion, shows the latest statistics from the Ministry of Information Industry.

The total telecom business surged 37.8 percent to CNY837.16 billion; the post business grew 4.5 percent to CNY52 billion.

The revenues from telecom business rose 13.2 percent to CNY475.50 billion; the revenues from post business increased 1.6 percent to CNY49.67 billion.

The telephone users in the country increased by 110.38 million during the 11 months to 643 million, including an increase of 50.409 million fixed-line users and increase of 59.971 million mobile users. The Internet broadband accessing subscribers reached 22.863 million, including 16.363 million ADSL subscribers, both doubled from a year earlier.

The country's investment in communications fixed assets increased 4.9 percent to CNY179.2 billion from the same period of last year.
