FED:Rudd with UN, Abbott claims

KEVIN RUDD has got the United Nations job he was after.

UN secretary general BAN KI-MOON has announced the former prime minister's appointment
to a new 21-member panel on global sustainability in New York.

Mr RUDD's office says it's an unpaid position that might involve one meeting this year
and two next year .. and is completely consistent with his work as a Queensland MP.

Opposition Leader TONY ABBOTT says it raises the prospect of part-time ministers ..

should Labor win a second term.
